About The Miners Community Centre
The Miners Working Men's Club was a social club on a working class estate in North Manchester until it was left and neglected. We are a small collective of artists and musicians who have been given the chance to revamp the building. The building is now open and the work is still continuing and we are currently building a recording studio.
Our aim is to provide a local multi functional building that will bring the local Community together for all
aspects of socialising activities and a safe haven for the youth of today. There is space for local bands to
rehearse and local artists to exhibit their work, there is also a community cafe. The Larger rooms can also be hired for functions.
We have Drama Groups who also use the building to teach Drama to local children. We have Community
Groups who have Mental Health issues that also use the facilities/Cafe on a weekly basis. We have held
functions that have included, for residents and families, Halloween Parties, Christmas Pantomimes,
Christmas Parties for children, Cabaret Nights, Art Exhibitions. We also have live band nights and the Miners Internet Radio Station that is used by local residents.
